The Feature - [link]
This month's inspiration challenge is to create a mask to represent the theme of 'the plague doctor'. These masks came into popularity to mimic the garb of the plague doctors who protected themselves from disease by wearing long snouted masks. Perfumes and flowers were placed within the snout to help protect from the smell of the sick and dying. Read more info here.
Feel free to do any kind of variation on this theme as you like! Remember, if you've done one in the past (as I know many of you have), it is eligible for our feature. Just leave us a link on this journal.
TO ENTER: Leave a link on this journal entry. Only two (2) entries per person. Entries must not have been Featured in a Challenge news article in the past, but can be past completed works. (We wouldn't want to get redundant featuring the same artwork for challenges over and over, would we?)
DEADLINE: The last Friday of the month - Apr 27th
THE FEATURE: We need at least 4 entries to make a feature, which will go live on Saturday, Apr 28th.
COLLECTIONS ON ETSY
I'm also going to be adding member work to themed collections on Etsy! If you want to be included in the lists on either site, be sure to leave links to the item on Etsy in addition to the item's link on DA. These themed collections will mirror each month's challenge and create extra exposure for our members!
Collections will go live the same day as the news feature here on DA. I require at least 12 entries to make a treasury/collection, so I'll only be doing this if we get enough people!
So with all that promised exposure on the table, let's get crackin'!
